D1 Shooter
One home for the D1 Shooter Blueprint: every program resource in a searchable list, and a daily training log that rolls the week up the way Coach Micah's paper trackers do.
Today: The Workout Card
The first card on the page carries the prescription, so a session runs from one screen. No plan PDF open on the side, no jumping out to YouTube.
The header shows the plan name for the month, a strip of plan documents, and Coach Micah's notes folded behind a Coach Notes toggle. Below that the drills run in the order Micah lists them: the three Vitamins first, then the eight Workout items.
Current Reminders
Coach Micah sends drill feedback through the Skool community between calls. Those cues belong on the page the morning session runs from, not in a chat thread you have to reopen, so they live in an amber block between the coach notes and the first drill.
The numbered list holds the cues meant for Lucas. A cue attached to a particular drill carries that drill's name as a small label, and the same cue is repeated inside that drill's card further down the page, so it is in front of you at the moment it applies rather than only at the top.
Underneath sits For Dad, collapsed and deliberately quieter. These are the notes Micah wrote for you rather than for Lucas, so they stay out of the list you read aloud in the driveway. Tap the heading to open them.
Adding and Retiring Reminders
Tap Edit in the reminders header. That opens the add form and puts Edit and Retire buttons on every reminder. Tap Done to put it away.
To add one, choose the Audience, pick a Drill or leave it as General, set the Source Date to the day Micah sent it, and write the reminder. The date defaults to today.
Retire takes a reminder out of circulation once the fault is fixed. It disappears from the list and from its drill card, but the row itself is kept and stamped with the date it was retired. Nothing is deleted, so the record of which cues were live during which week survives for later.
Drill Cards
Each card carries the drill number, its name, the target from Micah's sheet, and his coaching cue where he gave one. Two buttons sit on the right:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Play | Opens the demo video inside the card. No new tab, no leaving the page. |
| Log | Scrolls down to the Daily Log and puts the cursor in this drill's field for the day you have selected |
That pairing is the whole loop: watch, do, log, next.
Where Micah recorded a longer teaching video, smaller breakdown buttons sit under the drill. Ball Raises has one full breakdown. Kneeling Single Hand has two, a side angle and a front angle. Tapping one loads it in the same space as the demo.
Only one video plays at a time. Starting a second closes the first, so nothing keeps playing out of sight further down the page.
Plan Documents
The strip under the heading holds the plan PDFs. Tapping one opens it in a viewer over the page rather than in a new tab, so closing it puts you back exactly where you were, mid session.
The strip is built from the Plan category in Program Links. Add a plan link there with a shareable URL and it appears here on the next load. Close the viewer with the Close button, the Escape key, or a tap outside it.
Manual Sheets
Manual Sheets in the card header opens the ten laminated drill and vitamin sheets, on screen at print size. The five front and back pairs print as a single two page job each. See Manual Sheets for the pairings and the print dialog settings.
These are the court sheets, not the weekly trackers. The four paper trackers filled from the log live behind Print Sheets in the Daily Log instead.
Editing the Plan for Next Month
Targets and cues change month to month. Edit Drills in the card header puts an Edit button on every drill; tapping one opens the fields in place.
- Name and Target as they read on Micah's sheet
- Cue for the one line reminder
- Demo Video URL takes an ordinary YouTube link. A watch link, a youtu.be link, a Short, or a playlist all work; the page pulls the id out and builds the embed itself.
- Breakdown Videos takes one per line, written as a label, then a bar character, then the URL. For example: Breakdown Side View | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
Save Drill writes it. Done Editing returns the card to normal. Rolling to Month 2 is a matter of updating targets and cues here rather than changing code.
Program Links
The D1 Shooter Blueprint is a six month shooting program run with Coach Micah Mason. Its resources arrive from several places at once: workout plans and trackers on Google Drive, drill demonstrations and breakdowns on YouTube, the course itself on Skool, and raw video files stored on the local drive.
Program Links collects all of those into a single searchable list. It sits at the bottom of the page and stays collapsed until you tap Show Library, because it is the reference shelf rather than the working surface. The Workout Card and the Daily Log are what a session actually runs on.
Every link is owned by a student, so the same page can serve another child later without changing anything.
Where to find it: log in as a teacher, open the Sports menu in the top navigation bar, then choose D1 Shooter. The page runs top to bottom in the order a session does: Today, then the Daily Log, then Program Links.
Link Categories
Every link belongs to exactly one category. The badge color matches the subject color palette used elsewhere in the system, so the categories stay visually consistent with the rest of HLMS.
| Category | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Plan | Written workout plans and program outlines, such as Shooting Workout 1 |
| Breakdown | Coach analysis of Lucas and his shooting form |
| Drill Video | Demonstrations and teaching videos for individual drills |
| Tracker | Spreadsheets that record makes, reps, and mechanics over time |
| Course | Program platforms and logins, such as Skool |
| Call | Recordings and notes from coaching calls |
| Other | Anything that does not fit the categories above |
Finding a Link
Filtering and searching both happen instantly in the browser. Nothing reloads, so you can flip between views freely.
Category Chips
The chip row sits above the list. Each chip shows a running count of how many links it holds. Click a chip to show only that category, and click All to return to the full list. Chips only appear for categories that currently hold at least one link.
Search Box
Type in the search box to narrow the list as you type. Search looks at the label, the notes, the month or phase tag, the category, and the local file path. Searching for a drill name such as kneeling brings back every kneeling video at once.
The counter beside the Program Links heading shows how many links are visible out of the total, so you always know whether a filter is still applied.
Adding a Link
The add form stays closed until you need it, which keeps the list easy to scan.
- Click Add Link at the top right of the Program Links card. The form opens and the button changes to Close Form.
- Fill in the fields:
- Label is required. Use the name you would say out loud, such as Shooting Workout 2.
- Category picks one of the seven categories.
- Month or Phase tags the link to a point in the six month program, such as Month 1.
- URL is the web address for YouTube, Google Drive, Skool, or anywhere else.
- Local File Path is the full path to a file on the local drive.
- Notes is free text for anything worth remembering.
- Click Save Link. The form clears and closes, and the new link appears under its category.
Using a Link Row
Each row shows the category badge, the label, and the month or phase tag. The buttons on the right change depending on what the link holds.
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Chevron | Expands the row in place. This is the main way to use a link. |
| Open | Opens the URL in a new browser tab, for the rare case you actually want one. Appears only when the link has a URL. |
| Edit | Opens an edit form in place of the row. |
| Delete | Removes the link after you confirm. |
Expanding a Row
Tap the chevron at the right of any row and it opens underneath, without leaving the page. The chevron turns blue and points up, and the row is outlined so you can see which one is open. Tapping it again closes the row.
What appears depends on what the link points at:
| Link type | What the expanded row shows |
|---|---|
| YouTube | The video playing inline. Ordinary watch links, youtu.be links, Shorts, and playlists all work, and a playlist keeps its playlist controls. |
| Google Drive file | The PDF in a viewer, the same one the Plan Documents strip uses |
| Anything else | The notes and the Open button, with no player |
Every expanded row shows its Notes, and rows with a local file path show that path with a Copy Path button that puts it on the clipboard for File Explorer or a video tool.
Rows always start collapsed. Nothing about which row was open is remembered between visits.
Editing and Deleting
Edit in Place
Click Edit on any row. The row turns into a form holding the same fields as the add form, already filled in. Change what you need and click Save, or click Cancel to leave the link untouched. Saving refreshes the list, so a category change moves the link into its new group right away.
Delete a Link
Click Delete and confirm the prompt, which names the link so you can check you have the right one.
The Starting Set of Links
The first time the page runs against an empty table, it loads the Month 1 resources for Lucas so the page is useful immediately. That first load stores thirteen links: one Plan, one Breakdown, six Drill Videos, four Trackers, and one Course. All thirteen carry the tag Month 1.
This happens once. Links you add, edit, or delete afterward are never overwritten, and the starting set is not reloaded if you delete part of it.
Daily Log
Below the Program Links card sits the Daily Log, which replaces Coach Micah's four paper trackers. You log one day at a time, and the week rolls itself up so Sunday reporting is a glance rather than a reconstruction.
Both views share the week selector at the top. It opens on the current Monday through Sunday week. Previous and Next step a week at a time and This Week jumps back to today. The Entry and Week buttons on the right switch between the two views.
Entry View
This is the view for the driveway. It opens on today with large tap targets sized for a phone.
The seven day tabs run across the top. A green dot under a day means something is already logged there. Tap a day to load it, and the form fills with whatever was saved. The three cards below match the way the workout actually runs:
| Card | Fields |
|---|---|
| At Home Vitamins | Ball Raises reps, Kneeling Single Hand makes, Tennis Ball Workout yes or no |
| Shooting Workout | Workout Done yes or no, Lateral Hop Mikan makes in 60 seconds, Hop Touch attempts, Around the Horn makes, X Out Layups makes, Five Spot attempts, Forward Hop attempts, Twos and Twos points, Free Throws for Lucas and for Seth, Workout Duration minutes |
| Notes | Free text for how it went and what to fix tomorrow |
The yes or no fields are buttons rather than checkboxes. Tap once to turn a field green and read Yes, tap again to turn it off.
Total Makes sits in the blue bar above the cards and updates as you type, before anything is saved. Beside it, once free throws are logged for both shooters, you see the day result and the running season record.
Save Day writes the day. Saving a day that already exists overwrites it, so editing is the same action as creating. Reset reloads the saved values and throws away unsaved changes. Delete Day appears only on a day that has something logged.
How Total Makes Is Counted
Three of the drills are scored by how many attempts they needed, not by makes. When Workout Done is on, those drills bank their make target: 25 each for Hop Touch, Five Spot, and Forward Hop. On top of that the day counts the Lateral Hop Mikan makes, the Around the Horn makes, the X Out Layups makes, the Twos and Twos points halved because each make is worth two points, and Lucas's free throw makes.
Lateral Hop Mikan is the one that depends on the date. Days before August 20 2026 ran the drill to 20 makes against the clock, so they bank a flat 20. Days from August 20 onward run a one minute timer, so they count the makes actually scored. See the format change below.
Kneeling Single Hand makes are deliberately left out, so changing that number never moves Total Makes.
Nothing is stored. The figure is recalculated every time the page reads a day, so correcting a value immediately corrects every total that depends on it.
Week View
Four grids, one per paper tracker, each showing the seven days of the selected week. Today's column is tinted so it is easy to find.
| Grid | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Mechanical | Ball Raises and Kneeling Single Hand across the week with a week total, plus how many of the seven days included the tennis ball work |
| Shooting Workout | The eight scored drills as rows, each with the value logged per day and the week best in the last column. Workout Duration follows underneath with the week total. |
| Free Throw Line | Lucas and Seth makes out of 25 per day, week totals, week percentage, the winner of each day, and the running season record |
| Shot Make Club | Total Makes per day, the week total, and the running total across every week logged so far |
A dot in a cell means nothing was logged for that day.
Print Sheets
Print Sheets beside the Entry and Week buttons opens Coach Micahโs four paper trackers in a new tab, already filled from the log for the week you are looking at. Everything is entered once in the Daily Log and printed on Sunday, rather than hand copied onto the sheets.
| Sheet | What it carries |
|---|---|
| Mechanical Drills | The vitamin work for the week with a week total. Only drills with something logged take a row, and Micahโs blank rows are kept underneath for anything written in by hand. |
| Shooting Workout | Micahโs eight drills plus workout duration, in his order, with his row labels and cell prefixes. Days with nothing logged stay blank. |
| Free Throw Tracker | Twenty week rows from the program start, makes out of 25 per day, week attempts, makes, and percentage |
| Shot Make Club | Twenty week rows of total makes per day, the week total, a running total, and the milestone boxes ticked as they are reached |
The two twenty week sheets fill every week from the program start through the week you opened, so they build up as the program runs rather than showing one week at a time.
Tap a target number on the Free Throw or Shot Make Club sheet to circle it. The choice is stored, so it stays circled next time. The program start date sits in the grey bar at the top and sets the week numbering; week 1 is the week of August 17 2026.
Print produces four landscape pages. Nothing in the grey bar prints. Save as PDF from the same dialog works the same way, which is the easier option for sending them to Micah.
Personal Bests
A cell outlined in amber and tagged PB is the best Lucas has ever recorded for that drill, counting every day ever logged rather than just the current week.
Better means different things for different drills. Hop Touch, Five Spot, and Forward Hop are scored by attempts needed, so the lowest number wins. Lateral Hop Mikan, Around the Horn, X Out Layups, Twos and Twos, and Free Throws are scored by makes or points, so the highest number wins. The marker moves on its own as soon as a better day is saved, and moves back if that day is deleted.
The Lateral Hop Mikan Format Change
On August 20 2026 Micah changed the drill. It used to run to 20 makes with a stopwatch, where a faster time was the better result. It now runs a one minute timer where a higher score is better.
Those two numbers cannot be compared, so the log keeps them apart:
- Selecting a date before August 20 2026 shows the old seconds field with whatever was recorded, so history still reads correctly
- Selecting a date on or after it shows the makes in 60 seconds field
- Week view carries a row for each. The score row is always there, and the old time row appears only for a week that still holds a day recorded that way.
- Each row keeps its own personal best. A fast old time and a high new score never compete, because the best for one is not the best for the other.
Nothing already logged was changed or moved. Editing and re-saving an old day leaves its time exactly where it was.
Seth Versus Lucas
Each day that has free throws logged for both shooters gets a winner on the Daily Winner line, in green for Lucas and red for Seth. Days where they tie read Tie and count for neither.
The Season Record bar beneath the grid tallies every logged day, not just the current week, and reads as Lucas wins to Seth wins.
