👨🏫 Teacher Getting Started
Learn how to log in, navigate the teacher portal, and review student work.
Logging In
The teacher portal is protected by a PIN to keep student work secure.
Step 1: Open the Login Page
Navigate to the homeschool login page. You'll see two options: Student and Teacher.
Step 2: Enter Your PIN
A PIN pad will appear. Enter the 4-digit teacher PIN.
Default PIN: 1234. You can change this in Settings.
Step 3: Access the Teacher Portal
After entering the correct PIN, you'll see the teacher dashboard with pending submissions.
Dashboard Overview
The teacher portal is organized into tabs that help you manage student work efficiently.
Understanding the Tabs
| Tab | Shows | Action Needed |
|---|---|---|
| Pending Review | New submissions awaiting your review | Review and grade or return |
| Reviewed | Work you've already graded | Reference only |
| Needs Follow-Up | Assignments marked for extra teaching | Schedule follow-up lesson |
| All | Every submission in the system | Search and filter |
Understanding the Stats
At the top of the page, you'll see quick stats:
- Total Submissions - All work Lucas has submitted
- Pending Review - Work waiting for your attention
- Avg Time - Average time Lucas spends per assignment
Notifications
The bell icon 🔔 in the top navigation shows your notifications.
What Triggers Notifications
- Lucas submits new work
- You successfully return an assignment
- A follow-up is scheduled
Click the bell to see recent notifications. Unread notifications appear highlighted in light blue.
